Pirates 4 sets sail this summer

Of all the people you expect to break movie news, the governor of Hawaii probably isn’t too high on the list.

Well, put away that cynical 'tude, cos that’s what’s just happened.

A press release sent out by the Hawaii governor has confirmed that Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is set to shoot there this very summer.

More specifically, the sequel will be filming on two islands: Kaua'i and O'ahu.

Which has led to all kinds of speculation on the project.

Like, has Johnny Depp worked out his issues and officially signed the dotted line? Or is Disney just prepping production in the hope that Depp returns?

We know that he’s shooting Dark Shadows with Tim Burton at some point this year, but what of the rum-chugging pirate that introduced him to a whole new generation?

Speaking of Burton, Harry Knowles at Ain’t it Cool News has reportedly heard whispers that the director is planning on sticking with his fairytale fixation with a new adaptation of Sleeping Beauty .

His tale, though, will apparently focus on Maleficent, the ‘Mistress of All Evil’ who tricks Princess Aurora into a century-long slumber.

For now, though, that’s just rumour.

Aaaaaaaaarrre you enticed by a fourth Pirates ? Or have you had enough of a pirate's life? Share the love...
