PETA launches Super Tofu Boy, vilifies meat lovers

PETA has just released Super Tofu Boy, a free Flash game that’s meant to deter meat-loving gamers from feasting on flesh. The vegan friendly satire on Team Meat’s Super Meat Boy finds the main character dumped by Bandage Girl in favor of Tofu Boy.

As a healthy alternative with the “best buns in town,” Tofu Boy is described by PETA as a sexual dynamo. “He’s packed with essential vitamins… and has the kind of stamina that fatty blobs of beef have only heard about in fairy tales,” reads part of the character description on the game’s official site.

Above: You can try Super Tofu Boy for free and see how the parody twisted the bloody brilliant platformer by visiting PETA’s game site

This isn’t the first time PETA has attempted to promote a vegan lifestyle with an in-your-face Flash game. The organization’s most recent game releases include Super Chick Sisters, which requests players to boycott McDonald’s – and Cooking Mama: Mama Kills Animals, a satire on the Cooking Mama series, which includes vegan Thanksgiving recipes.

“He’s packed with essential vitamins… and has the kind of stamina that fatty blobs of beef have only heard about in fairy tales,” Wonder if PETA have their Tofu so far up their asses that it's starting to digest their silly little brains. PETA is more and more beginning to like the the grown up version of the 13 year old boys that screams in FPS games online and tells everyone that they suck even though they get their asses kicked every single time

peta sucks, meat is tasty, and if you don't engorge yourself, is also healthy

Should be "beginning to look like" lol

I get it they don't like animals to be hurt. Heck I don't like animals to get hurt. But I still like to eat meat I am an omnivore. Anyway if they want to do something interesting they should make a game that you play as a monster that goes around and eats people. That would be awesome also the peta people should be featured in the games protesting naked like they do in real world. New title " Super Awesome Human Eating Monster"

i'm perfectly fine with people being vegetarian but PETA act like assholes, making anyone who choses to eat meat a villain, antagonising anything that apparently puts meat in a good light, even if ridiculously abstract and silly as Super Meat Boy

Man... I think they're big problem here was that they tried to copy an amazingly tight and personality filled platformer, and didn't quite get it right. Tofu Boy handles worse than Meat boy Does, so who had more vitamins and athleticism again PETA?

Man, that doesn't look even vaguely like Bandage Girl. Is it really so difficult to be smug AND accurate?

And still the world dosent give a damn bout what ever nonsense Peta still spits out.
  • slowdrum13 - December 1, 2010 8:36 p.m.

well while i may not agree with them, they have every right to make a game if they want.

I'm conflicted about PETA in general, but I don't get how this particular game "vilifies meat lovers" in any way. It's just a tofu version of Meat Boy. On the other hand, I already interpreted Super Meat Boy as an anti-meat commentary (let me believe!!), so I don't get why PETA is targeting it for parody. Meat Boy reminds us that meat is gore and also that we're all made of meat. <3 Meat Boy

CALL THE VEGAN POLICE!!! THERE IS AN EVIL MEAT BOY AFOOT!!

PETA can keep their shitty flash games, and I'll keep my cheese pizza. Deal? Deal.

    ... Sonsabitches...

I like how PETA says vegans are better lovers like its a fact. And they cant come up with their own ideas, so they steal them.

PETA piss me off, Vegans piss me off, treehuggers piss me off. However, I find this pretty funny. PETA and all it's members can still go die in a fire though.

Craaaap. SMB is brilliant, STB is crap.
  • celticwhisper - December 1, 2010 9:16 p.m.

As a vegetarian, I think this and PETA are both dumb. Christ, people, eat what you want and if some nature nazi tries to tell you you're a murderer for enjoying a strip steak, poke him in the eye with an asparagus spear until he goes away. That said, tofu is damn good in a spicy Thai curry.
