Pen To Paper: The latest scribbles on the dotted line...

Kevin Bacon has joined Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ken Watanabe on newcomer Jieho Lee’s drama The Air I Breathe. The movie is based on an ancient Chinese proverb and uses the story to trace the four key areas of human emotion: Love, Happiness, Sorrow and Pleasure.

Love spins the story of a doctor on the brink of desperation in trying to save the life of a patient. Happiness follows the fortunes of a banker who finds himself only after he loses everything and decides to pull a bank heist. Sorrow tells the tale of a wild child female pop star whose career is at a crossroads. Finally Pleasure follows the story of a gangster with a gift for seeing into the future.

Dennis Haysbert (the President in 24) has signed up to appear alongside fellow Jarheader Chris Cooper and Crash star Ryan Phillipe in crime drama Breach. Based on a true story, it follows the tale of an FBI agent who goes toe-to-toe with a powerful agency boss who is selling secrets to the Soviets on the side. The flick is being helmed by Billy Ray (Shattered Glass). Haysbert will play an investigating agent teamed up with Kinsey star Laura Linney.

It seems the box office disappointment of The Island has done Scarlett Johansson no harm at all as she can barely see her doormat for scripts. The Lost In Translation star has now inked on the line to appear in the Weinstein Co project The Nanny Diaries. Johansson will play a woman who is hired to look after a neglected four year old of a wealthy but disinterested couple. The script is based on the novel by Emma McLaughlin and was penned by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini (American Splendor).
