The US gossip writer who was fired after reviewing a leaked copy of X-Men Origins: Wolverine hit back at his former employer yesterday, slapping Fox News and its parent company News Corp with a $5m (£3m) claim for damages. For good measure, the lawsuit accuses Fox of wilful, reckless, intentional and malicious defamation.

The X-Men's fiercest hero digs his claws into retail stores globally with the release of the X-Men Origins: Wolverine video game from Activision Publishing, Inc. This is a bit nuts, but it seems to be for a good cause in the end. Activision has apparently sponsored the wolverine enclosure at Edinburgh Zoo for one year in exchange for the zoo changing their only male wolverine's name to Logan. Dead serious.
