Well, it is finally here... after months of waiting patiently for access to World of Warcraft's new Burning Crusade expansion, we're in. The first thing we need to tell you is that this is a beta, and that means that the game, however gorgeous and polished, is still not yet ready for prime-time. Anything we talk about could be completely changed before the game is actually released, and there will undoubtedly be a bunch of new things added that we'll never see in the beta. Also, you may notice ... » Read More

PC - World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade - Blizzard confirms The Sword of a Thousand Truths is real It's not just for the kids of South Park anymore. The sword created by Salzman in Blizzard's accounting department may be real, Joystiq.com did a little investigating. Blizzard has confirmed that The Sword of a Thousand Truths, used by Stan to defeat "The Evil Man," is in the World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade expansion -- for now.

The Sword of a Thousand Truths is currently intended as a reward in the new Arena System. The Arena System is one of the new PvP elements available with the Burning Crusade expansion. Blizzard emphasizes that like anything else available in the closed beta of the expansion, which started today, this content could change at any time.

God Save the Wii Our friends on the other side of the pond got their Wii news today, but it was a bit of good and bad. While Sony will make Brit gamers wait until 2007 for their PS3s, the Wii will hit UK shores on December 8 for £180. That's still more than the US price if you work out the exchange rate and it's just £20 less than an Xbox 360 Core pack. Even the UK Virtual Console games will be the equivalent of a few bucks more expensive than in the US and Japan. And while the ... » Read More

PC News | World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade
Taking a cue from the godzillions of fan films it's spawned, Blizzard released a video of the new flying mount the Netherdrake, set to debut in the upcoming expansion to the online megahit World of Warcraft. Utter machinima mayhem (machinima is a term for animation created from manipulated in-game footage), this movie is mostly silly jokes with a hint of gameplay thrown in to keep it relevant. Still, it depicts some crazy aerial acrobatics that make us that much more eager to get our hands on ... » Read More

Monday 14 August 2006 The Burning Crusade, Blizzard's expansion pack for the massively multiplayer World of Warcraft, will limit raids to a max of 25 characters and fundamentally change the Player-vs-Player setup. Currently, most dungeons offer 40-man raids, attracting huge groups of characters. But Blizzard's focus with The Burning Crusade is on smaller runs and higher level action, and several locations will even offer five-man-maximum raids for hardcore gamers at levels 60 or 70. As for ... » Read More

We cornered lead producer Shane Dabiri and lead game designer Tom Chilton to get the final word on the upcoming expansion to one of the most popular online RPGs in the world. We begin with the story of the Draenei, the freshly announced race, and will continue with our explorations through the massive new zone of the Outland tomorrow (check it out here ). It all begins a very long time ago, when the Eredar race (horned, blue demon-looking creatures) fractured into three different camps lead by ... » Read More

In the first part of our Burning Crusade blow-out, we covered the history of the Draenei... in this installment, we tackle the world beyond the Dark Portal known as Outland. Crossing through the Dark Portal, which you can already see in the Blasted Lands zone, you're instantly greeted by the sight of shattered desolation. Similar to the orange-hued, sandy wastes of the Blasted Lands, the area just beyond the Dark Portal serves as your introduction to Outland, an entirely new world linked to ... » Read More

Blizzard has confirmed that the much talked about new Alliance race for Burning Crusade - the upcoming expansion pack for massive online PC game World of Warcraft - is the Draenei. Descended from the demonic Eredar race, the Draenei make up one-third of the inhabitants of Draenor, where they live in not so mutual harmony with the ogres and the orcs. And as the remnants of a once great society destroyed by the orcs, they have scores to settle not only with the green-skinned fiends but also with ... » Read More
