2007 hasn't just been good. It's been spectacular. Here's the year in review.
Words: David Houghton, GamesRadar UK
Throughout the rest of the Wii’s catalogue we’ve seen a fair few genres freshened up thanks to the new control system. Excite Truck was a raucous festival of slam-bang driving made all the more frenetic by its virtual steering wheel controls. SSX Blur, while in part made up of old material, used the Wiimote and Nunchuck to create a brilliantly instinctive and flowing feel that was totally suited to the franchise. Ghost Squad brought back arcade shooting with style. And Mario Strikers: Charged? Well that was just a hell of a lot of shoulder-charging, ball-catching fun.
2007 cemented the Wii as both a good idea and a machine that can really add a lot to gaming on any level you care to discuss. It was understandably an experimental year, but the results of that experiement have really paid off and the future is now a lot more fresh and exciting as a result.
