Plummeting into our laps this morning and lighting up our eyeballs are new screenshots from World in Conflict, the new RTS from Ground Control developer Massive Entertainment.

We reckon it's looking rather impressive, but you can check the shots our for yourself (hit the Images tab above) and see what you think.

World in Conflict is based on a Cold War scenario, but it's a fictional storyline set in the late 80s and the Soviet war machine has both advanced into Europe and launched a surprise second assault on the US. You come in as a field commander who is leading military muscle in an attempt to retake America's cities and suburbs.
