Today (Tuesday 10th March) Massgate have released the latest patch for World in Conflict. This tenth update for World in Conflict makes the original version compatible for multiplayer games with the upcoming March release of World in Conflict Complete and Soviet Assault. It also includes several new features and bug fixes. The missing maps issue preventing players from joining certain servers has been addressed, a new difficulty level has been added for bots, helicopters can now fire at targets directly beneath them, single-player missions have been balanced and tweaked in several ways, admin spectators can now chat to both teams and much more. All localised client downloads can be found on Fileplay at http://www.fileplay.net/files/rts/wic/patches

The Electronic Sports League is hosting a 5 on 5 worldwide tournament on World in Conflict. The World Championship registration ends on March 3rd, 2009. New and veteran players alike are welcome to participate, to win lots of Intel and other prizes.

Activision Blizzard is putting Swedish developer Massive Entertainment, the maker of World in Conflict and Ground Control, up for sale. This confirms speculation that Activision would drop several of its Vivendi Games franchises after the two companies merged on July 9. More after the jump...

Speaking exclusively to VG247, Massive Entertainment's senior execs have revealed that they're already in talks for a potential sale of the World in Conflict developer, following now-confirmed news that Activision is to sell the outfit as a result of its merger with Blizzard.

Massive Entertainment has released a new patch to their highly acclaimed game World in Conflict. The patch fixes balancing and bug issues and introduces some new features, like improved in-game voting, new ignore functions and improved network code stability.

Sierra Entertainment has revealed that the eighth update for World in Conflict fixes balancing and bug issues and introduces some new features, like improved in-game voting, new ignore functions and improved network code stability. There are also several additions to Massgate, including new banners and new explanatory texts for missing content.
