Sony has informed us that Game Update 4 has been released for Vanguard: Saga of Heroes and brings the permanent flying mounts in addition to an extensive list of game play features. Players will notice a significant revamp of the Riftway system, the addition of an overland raid for high-level players, updates to three classes, bug and performance fixes and the inclusion of Veteran player rewards.» Read More

Vanguard: Saga of Heroes
Most MMO players know the story of IGE and Affinity Media by now, (the owners of WoWhead, Allakhazam, Thottbot and WoWinterface), and their relationship. A really interesting article popped up on Radar Online today which highlights some of the dodgy characters that are involved in the Affinity Media business which had claimed to have no involvement with IGE. Brock Pierce who is an advisor and a board member of Affinity Media, is highlighted in the above article and I have to say there's some pretty unsavoury stuff here pointing at child abuse. This has been brought up before regarding Brock Pierce who has apparently denied charges but there are filed legal cases which he has tried to settle.
In related news, there has been paperwork filed this week where IGE admits that it is Affinity Media (see additional link). Not that anyone doubted it. Next time you hit up an Affinity Media site, just think about who you are supporting and who's pockets your traffic is lining with cash.

It's speculated that Sony Online Entertainment may acquire Vanguard: Saga of Heroes developer Sigil Games, following the revelation that the two are in talks regarding the future of both the PC MMOG and Sigil.
Speaking to Vanguard Vault, Sigil CEO Brad McQuaid admitted that Vanguard isn't doing as well as hoped but explained that talks with the game's publisher SOE "are going well and first and foremost, our primary concern right now is what's best for Vanguard and its community."

Saga of Heroes MMO sees first major update next week.
Sony Online Entertainment's Vanguard: Saga of Heroes MMO is getting its first major online update. Available March 6, the update adds more than a dozen new weapon models, six new NPC races (Djinn, Mnalus, Mudmen, Sand Giants, Ichtakhta and Xennu), two new areas for adventuring and nine visually.
