Petrolgyph now taking beta applications to put its RTS through the grinder

Universe at War: Earth Assault developer Petroglyph is to kick off a beta test of its latest RTS next month and is currently looking for armchair generals to take part.

"We're looking for the best and the brightest to join the Universe at War: Earth Assault beta test, beginning on August 15, 2007,” the devs declared. Obviously if your beta application is accepted, not only will you get the chance to play the game early but also shape the final product.

We're assuming that the beta test only relates to the PC version of Universe at War, but it's not made clear. We put a call in to the game's publisher Sega to find out if it's covering the Xbox 360 outing too, but no one was home.

Universe at War releases on PC at the end of the year and on Xbox 360 in early 2008. It supports cross-platform play through Games for Windows - Live.
