The update doesn't introduce any new functionality--that is planned later on with the release of a desktop client as well as the Games for Windows - Live Marketplace. However, the update does give the GFW - Live client a whole new look that's better suited for PCs...

The latest patch for the PC version of Universe at War: Earth Assault has been released. Weighing in at 28.4megs, the patch adds new maps, balances the gameplay and fixes the bugs.

Sega has sent out a specific European release dates today, confirming the exact release dates of some rather anticipated games like Condemned 2, The Club & Universe at War.

True to word, a Petryoglyph community manager has posted on the game's official Web site that Universe at War has gone gold and will arrive in the coming weeks. The game is at the manufacturer as I type this, and we'll be hitting store shelves soon! read the announcement. A demo featuring a tutorial and the first two missions of one of the game's campaign modes is available for download through GameSpot. While a release date has not yet been confirmed for the T-for-Teen-rated game, retailers expect to offer the latest alien-invasion real-time strategy game from the studio behind Star Wars: Empire at War on December 4. An Xbox 360 version is slated for the first part of 2008, and Petroglyph plans to integrate Microsoft's Games for Windows - Live service to allow for cross-platform play.

Sega has teamed with Valve to bring more Sega-published titles to the PC download service, the companies announced today. The recently released offroad racer Sega Rally Revo (PC, PS3, PSP, X360) is available for download now, with titles like Petroglyph's Universe at War (PC, X360), Sports Interactive's Football Manager 2008 (PC), and Shiny Entertainment's The Golden Compass (PC, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, NDS, X360) coming soon to the service.
