EA and developer NetDragon Websoft Inc. have teamed up to bring a new MMO to China based on the popular title, Ultima Online. NetDragon will work with EA's Mythic to bring the title to China, India, Macau and Hong Kong.

Ultima Online has announced the patch notes for their next update, Pub 58.8. The update is scheduled to go live after the next shard maintenance.

Sept 26, 2007 Veteran MMORPG Ultima Online recently received a significant overhaul in update Kingdom Reborn, and EA is inviting former players to come and take in the new sights for free. The "Return to Brittania" campaign, as the initiative is named, forms part of a celebration of the game's tenth anniversary, and ex-OUers can play for free through to October 9. Richard Garriot, the executive producer of NCsoft and creator of the Massively Multiplayer (and massively popular) Ultima Online, has criticised the genre for becoming stagnant, claiming that MMO design has adopted elements akin to whack-a-mole games and data management in favour of innovative design.

Wednesday 23 August 2006 Massively multiplayer PC RPG workhorse Ultima Online (currently in its ninth year, so possibly older than the newest generation of gamers) is to be given a sweeping overhaul next year in the Kingdom Reborn expansion. Most obvious is a graphical upgrade: while UO won't be moving out of its old school, isometric 3D look, soft lighting and smoothed visuals will make it less eye-searingly retro.
