Two Worlds II

Also known as: Two Worlds: The Temptation

Two Worlds II is about to become rated arr! Sorry, I love that joke. In all seriousness (or as much seriousness as a game that could be written as '2 Worlds 2' is entitled to), TopWare Interactive and Reality Pump Studios are releasing a swash buckling expansion to the fantasy RPG entitled Pirates of the Flying Fortress.

The add-on will take players to a “gloomy pirate world” replete...

A shipping problem that publisher TopWare says it "cannot believe" has forced the company to delay the UK launch of Two Worlds II. Components from the game shipped from China were described as "just a total wreck."

Robert Purchese from Eurogamer writes: TopWare (now owned by Zuxxez) has announced a sequel to Oblivion-alike RPG Two Worlds. Memorably dubbed Two Worlds II, the game will appear on Mac, next-gen consoles and PC this winter. The sequel has been in development for two years and makes quantum leaps in all areas, boasts the press release. AI has been overhauled, authors ditched and a brand-new combat engine employed. Not in place of the authors, obviously.

"Players can now go on the hunt for a crazy Necromancer, unsolve [sic] the mystery of a massacre in a woodcutters' camp, deal with a rebel knight (permanently) and lots more. The new add-on doesn't only give you a new series of Quests - it also opens up

Reality Pump has been discussing the pit it fell into with its fantasy RPG Two Worlds, which didn't exactly go down a storm, in an interview with the UK edition of the Official Xbox Magazine.

"Two Worlds was not only the first role-playing game we created as a company, but also our first console game, so we've learned a lot in the process," the developer told OXM UK.

"The main lesson we learned is to be more realistic with our

SouthPeak Games has offered brief confirmation on Two Worlds: The Temptation, a full sequel to RPG Two Worlds. Shouldn't the sequel have been called Three Worlds? Ahem. Anyway, events in The Temptation kick off shortly after those portrayed in the original game and it's apparently set in the Eastern Antaloor, in the regions surrounding Oswaroh and the Drak'ar Desert. Great names. "Featuring as much content as the original, Two Worlds: The

Zuxxez's VP of Business Development Dirk Hassinger revealed in the official forums that Two Worlds: The Temptation does not re-used a single 3D object from the original, and that due to its many enhancements (new multiplayer netcode, new gfx & sound engine) The Temptation is not even compatible with the original. Therefore, it has to be considered a sequel, not an add-on. Two Worlds 2 just didn't sound right. Here's a translation of Hassinger's original German post in full: I find the discussion going into the wrong direction. As I've already said Two Worlds: The Temptation becomes a completely new game and not an add-on. Not one 3D object from Two Worlds is included. That couldn't be done due to technical reasons. We use new graphics, sound and engine. Multiplayer also has completely new codes. And it cannot be an add-on, because it is not compatible with the first Two Worlds. We did not call it Two Worlds 2 only because that sounds strange to us. Nevertheless simply compares the screenshots of Two World: The Tempation with Two World. (I know that there are only 4 on the Internet.) There will be new sceenshots in the next PC Action and the next GameStar. In addition we're presently working on a web page. Until those are ready, [we] give weekly information in Antaloor Post. You can read those yourself on www.2-worlds.com.

Set to arrive on Xbox 360 and Games for Windows, The Temptation will see Two Worlds' existing game universe expanding yet further thanks to the introduction of new game content, fresh features, extended gameplay, and answers to some of the questions and mysteries held over from the original game's narrative.
