Xbox accounts for 61 per cent of units sold in UK. The latest title in the former Sony exclusive franchise Devil May Cry has debuted in the UK's All Formats charts at number one, with the lion's share of sales on the Xbox 360. Sixty one per cent of sales were on the Microsoft console, with the rest on Sony's PlayStation 3 and PC. The game is number one in the All Formats charts but also the individual format charts as well.

Kotaku has received quite a few emails this weekend from people saying they had picked up copies of Turok at their local stores. While it's not out of the ordinary for a game's street date to be broken by a single outlet, according to Best Buy, GameStop, GameCrazy and Wal-mart the game came out three days ago on Jan. 31. Apparently no one told this to the game's publisher, Touchstone. The official Turok website has a countdown clock that still has a little over two days left on it. The press materials and game websites like IGN and Gamespot also have it listed as a February 5th release. Is this a matter of a mass mistake on the retailers' part or is Touchstone being sneaky and letting the cat out of the bag early on purpose?

This weekend an exclusive edition of Gamer TV celebrates the imminent release of next-gen shooter Turok...
Jan 29, 2008
Edit: After being told the game was "4-5 hours long" during our preview time, we have been asked to clarify that the game is in fact 12-15 hours long, and are happy to do so.
If ever a series lost its way, it's Turok. After a couple of brilliant N64 games, it combusted. First it went darker (d'oh) added zombies (gah!), then went back to dinos only with added mediocrity (sigh). It looked like a sure candidate for extinction. But all that could be reversed if the new Xbox 360/PS3
Graphics aren't everything, and it's just as well because these eight new screens show what an ugly face the new Turok game

Turok is one of only a few demos out this week. It's available on Live Marketplace (and PSN if you're in the US). Or how about the FIFA Street 3 sampler, out for both PS3 and 360. Quite eye-catching with its new stylised cartoon image, although some of you forum goers seem less than taken with the repetitive tricks.

Scroll down to see what this Turok dev Turok_Tim has to say about PS3 and 360 versions, demo, co-op and more. Know that the PS3 game rocks as hard as the 360 version: PS3 - Issues with PS3 development are largely overblown by internet experts and folks with an axe to grind. Face it, any new platform is going to present challenges and the PS3 is no different from the 360 in that regard. We've had over a year's head start getting experience on the 360, but Propaganda has extremely talented coders who took on the challenge of making Turok multiplatform and giving PS3 owners the best game possible. Sony was also a great supporter, providing on-site assistance here so that you guys on PS3 got the same AAA fps experience that the 360 owners are going to get when Turok's released. So to make a long story short, the PS3 game rocks as hard as the 360 version. No worries there.

Touchstone announced today that a pre-order demo disc with approximately 30 minutes of gameplay from Turok is now available in the United States at major retailers in-store and online. More details from the press release after the jump:

Disney Interactive sends word that its re-imagining of previously-rubbish dinosaur shooter Turok is no longer limited to PS3 and 360 - owners of stupidly expensive PCs can play it as well.
Porting duties are being handled by Aspyr Studios and the PC version will arrive in "Spring 2008," shortly after the February console release.
The new Turok, in case you missed previous PR explosions, once again puts you in the mould of Joseph Turok, only this time you're a hard-as-nails elite
