PC - Transformers: The Game - Analyst: Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk Competitors To Hurt Activision Growth? Ahead of Activision's financial results next week, Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey has commended short-term revenue prospects, but commented that "emerging competition for some of [Activision's] core franchises, including Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk", may prove damaging for the company's long-term growth.

Hickey stated for the short-term company prospects, "We expect key fiscal Q208 and 2H08 game sales will come from Spiderman 3, Shrek 3, Transformers, Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk, Call of Duty 4 and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. The Company's fiscal '08 game pipeline is exceedingly strong, and will likely generate record fiscal '08 operating performance."

PC News | Transformers: The Game
Activision unveiled the upcoming Transformer movie tie-in earlier this week in London to what we believe was a very average reception. We're huge fans of the brand and think the movie is shaping up to deliver the goods. We have a few reservations about the game though. We said, "Although the game's still in development, it lacked the detail and polish we've come to expect from 360 games. The environment looked bland and there was a distinct lack of people and traffic." Activision producer ... » Read More

The first in-game screen of Transformers: The Game has morphed into view, giving us a tantalizing enigma to ponder while we wait for the game and movie to arrive. We've blown up the image so you can decide for yourself, but we reckon it looks like a lady running away from the towering beast. Of course, stomping people may not be a feature of this family-friendly game, but we'd like to think it ... » Read More
