Tortuga: Two Treasures

Tortuga: Two Treasures - hands-on

Swash your buckles, shiver your timbers, and set sail for lost booty

But don’t get too used to your sea legs because you’ll also be keelhauling land lubbers in Tortuga’s third person hack ‘n slash sequences. Most of these sequences take place in harbor cities as you sneak and slash your way to the next cut scenes to move the story along.

But you’ll also have the opportunity to board and capture any vessel you encounter on the open water by sending the ship’s captain to Davy Jones’ locker. As with the ship battles, you’ll use the WASD keys to control Blythe’s movements on land as you furiously slash through enemies with repeated left clicks and the occasional right click for blocking.

Although Blythe will learn new combo attacks and acquire various kinds of weapons, don’t expect a deep swordplay system or intense strategy from the land and sea battles. Instead, Tortuga looks like its keeping its sights locked on providing simple, yet satisfying action. But with its piratical premise, that sounds jolly good to us.
