This isnt so much a sequel as a careful reiteration of the first Tom Clancys Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter game. Theyve honed the template by adding some new visuals - lighting effects, convincing smoke, that sort of thing - and theyve tweaked the interface. But essentially the Sweden-based development team, Grin, has delivered the same fancy-looking tactical shooter as before.

This is a game where taking things slowly is the key to success. Youre faced with large tracts of complex urban ...
Will the PC version of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 be much better than its 360 predecessor, or will it be a first-person version of the same game with a few new maps, multiplayer modes, and a grittier look? Either way, we're not likely to be disappointed considering how much fun the 360 version was.

But now you can see for yourself, as publisher, Ubisoft has released the single player demo, featuring the game's first map, Search and Destroy. You can click here for a list of ...
Developer Grin is back to saturate our eyes and ears with GRAW 2 on PC in a second video developer diary, which you can view below (you can see the first video dev diary here).

In this new diary installment - which runs for three minutes - members of the development team discuss the main objectives with the game, level design and the sequel's tactical element. Of course, all the commentary is backed up with gameplay.

GRAW 2 on PC should be with us on June 29. Although sharing an identical ...
Just as the original Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter on PC received an almost total redesign in the step from Xbox 360, so will GRAW2 be boosted with super-tactical features.

As the video below shows, you'll be able to pick your insertion point for each mission, then directly command your troops from the tactical map, for clean terrorist mop-ups.

It's so different, in fact, that it's almost worth 360 gamers with PCs hunting it out, especially with the brand new PC-exclusive multiplayer mode, ...
There really isnt an easy way to win at good old Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. Theres no single tactic that works every time, or any one strategy that will help you to blitz your opponents on each map and mode. Its a game that rewards experience, a sharp eye and a quick trigger finger. However, by knowing how to play each level, you can give yourself the edge, and on the battlefield, this is what makes the difference between the first casualty and the last man standing.

Despite its liberal use of Tom Clancy's name, it wasn't GRAW 2's story or the single-player campaign that made it such a success on the 360, it was the big-ass bag of multiplayer modes the game brought with it. That's why we were excited to sample two new multiplayer modes - Team Deathmatch and Recon vs Assault - when we infiltrated the closed multiplayer beta. Keep in mind that these two modes are likely just the tip of the iceberg. GRAW 2 for the PC won't be a doppelganger of its 360 brother ...
How much more advanced can an Advanced Warfighter really get in one year? That's the question we've been asking ourselves ever since Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 was announced for release in March 2007 on Xbox 360, PC and PSP (as well as on PS3 in June). How much better or different could the sequel possibly be with so little time between it and the original?

The single player campaign ended up surprising us with niftily updated gadgets and gripping level design, but the ...
You've created one of the best games of 2006. You've appealed to critics and consumers alike. And through a combination of high quality and good timing, your product was dubbed the first truly next-gen experience by most press outlets. So what do you do for a sequel, especially if you plan on releasing it a mere year after the outstanding original?

In the case of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (mercifully referred to as GRAW 2 for the rest of this preview), the developer has ...
When Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter launched its assault on Xbox 360 it was one of the first games to really earn its next-gen stripes. Glorious visuals, sweet tech tricks and intense gameplay combined to make it one of the best games of 2006.

And, as our first look at the 360 version has revealed, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 is looking even better. Even more advanced, if you will.

The action picks up where the previous game left off - Ubisoft told us that the sequel is like the second ...
As we reported in our exclusive preview of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, players will have access to a new ground-based support vehicle called MULE, and now we've captured the first shot of the rugged rover in action.

A multi-purpose armoured vehicle, players can take control of MULE and drive it around, safe in the knowledge that it's impervious to attacks from assault rifles. Its resilience also makes it an ideal place for the ghosts to take cover behind when ...
Though we and everyone else kinda saw it coming, publisher Ubisoft announced today that Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is getting a sequel. It is scheduled to hit shelves in Spring 2007 for Xbox 360, PS3, PC and PSP.

The original was one of the first games to offer a truly next-gen experience, technically and graphically, so it will be quite a challenge for the developers to "wow" us all over again. At the moment, they're promising better AI, morphing light and shadows and shifting weather ...
Friday 8 December 2006
Ubisoft has announced that it will be releasing Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in March.

Set in 2014 the game sees the Special-Ops team back in action in order to counter the threat from the Mexico/US border where rebels are attempting to bring their brand of chaos and destruction to US soil. It's up to futuristic Ghost squad with their upgraded Integrated Warfighter System to protect the 1,900 mile border.

GRAW2 will visit new locations as ...
