"Sierra sends word today that the fourth dimension-bending FPS will be coming to Sony's Playstation 3 console on December 6. That's an Australian date folks, so if you're Xbox 360 and PC deprived, and this title has had you polishing your DeLorean several times a day, it can be yours in a week's time.
Oct 30, 2007

It's been a tough year to be a first-person shooter. With the bar being set ludicrously high by games like Halo 3, BioShock, The Orange Box, and Call of Duty 4, we are in a golden age of action titles. It's a bit hard, then, to recommend the fourth-dimensional shooter TimeShift amongst such a crowded field. Don't be mistaken - this is a solid offering - but its paint-by-numbers design and undercooked story will have a tough time holding your attention, though its multiplayer mode ...
Sierra dropped us a friendly e-mail this afternoon inviting us to the TimeShift launch party - not out of the ordinary – we get boozed up at industry parties all the time. What was out of the ordinary was a note attached to the invitation stating that Sierra will be raffling off an exclusive look at Prototypes co-op mode.

If you arent aware, Prototype is an open-ended conspiracy thriller centered around science experiment and anti-hero Alex Mercer, and looks to challenge ...
His head comes apart in a haze of red and gore, his knees crumple and hes dead. Then the voodoo happens: his collapsed legs unfold in an impossible fashion, his body straightens and the gobs of matter and the red mist reform into a head. Theres something disquieting about watching someones head reforming in front of you.

TimeShift is a first-person shooter where the passage of time is under your control. From within your timesuit you can slow, stop and reverse the temporal flow, ...
Sept 5, 2007

Ever been playing a game and wondered just what it would be like if you possessed the same abilities as the character youre controlling? Of course you have. And the ability to bend time, as you can in 360, PS3 and PC future-shooter, TimeShift, certainly got our imaginations working overtime.

Developer Sierra has obviously been thinking along the same lines and has created a live action short to demonstrate just how mastering time could be put to good use in the real world.

The ...

Hexus.net grabbed some time with TimeShift recently, which is very close to release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Not only is the game sooo close to being done, it now sports Havok 4.5 physics which has opened up loads of intuitive gameplay options. Couple that in with the TimeShift ability and you've got a world with which you can interact in a myriad of different ways.

For example, a pipe is balanced in the middle by a chain and would give you access to the level above if you could weight it down at one end¿ but there are no weights to be had. What you can do is stand on one end to make the other end rise, then run down to the other end. Now rewind time but stay where you are and the pipe will rise, as, back in time, it was pointing up in the air.
TimeShift, the science-bothering blaster that lets you play fast and loose with the laws of time, has now been confirmed for PlayStation 3, joining the PC and 360 versions we've already seen.

In addition, we've sifted the Internet for fact nuggets, and come up with a beauty - TimeShift's superpowers will make the leap from singleplayer to multiplayer, with the help of special Chronos Grenades.

These physics-bending gadgets will come in two flavors. Reverse grenades have the potential to send ...
The trailer is pre-rendered, so don't expect the finished game to look quite so gorgeous, although we can confirm the rain does stop like that when you're playing the real thing. ...
Poor TimeShift. Countless games have trekked through the development hell of schedule setbacks, platform issues, publisher pressure and unhappy focus groups. But few have dealt with schedules that stretched on for four years, platforms that became obsolete before the game was finished, publishers that changed completely midway through production and an unhappy focus group that consisted of the entire gaming community. And no other game has had to face TimeShift's most intimidating foe - the ...
TimeShift has had a bumpy ride during its development cycle. If only it had the benefit of the time-bending abilities of its central character, maybe it would have seen the future and not needed to be taken apart and rebuilt twice. Originally intended for release on last-gen Xbox, at one stage the game's bug list (a run-down of known issues needed to be addressed before it is declared finished) was down to single figures. Apparently, that's a day's work.

But in its quest for perfection, ...

Saber Interactive's TimeShift is an FPS in which players control time to complete missions and defeat foes. The game will leverage first-of-its-kind gameplay abilities and functionality, the latest graphics technology, and high production values to create a truly unique action game experience. At a press event last night, Sierra showed off the new and improved TimeShift, ending with a video clip which revealed the PlayStation 3 logo in the closing credits. When asked, Sierra PR could neither confirm nor deny this news.
Some four and a half months ago, Sierra bought this first person shooter from Atari. Since then, the storyline was completely rewritten, new voice talent was brought in, and the project got a top-to-bottom reboot. Having played it, we can honestly say that TimeShift has come along nicely - it's way better than before.

To recap: In the near future, you play as Col. Michael Swift (Ret), an ex-test pilot and decorated soldier. His wife having died in childbirth, he's dedicated the rest of his ...
It's been awhile since we've heard anything from time-manipulating shooter TimeShift, but this new grip of screens proves that it's still alive and kicking. After doing a little shifting of its own from one publisher to another, it appears that, although delayed, TimeShift still looks fantastic on both 360 and PC (the Xbox current-gen version has been scrapped). These new shots show off some of the vehicular options you'll get to tool around in as well as a double-crossbow-looking contraption ...
On a crowded shelf of shooters, TimeShift boasts one unique weapon: the ability to manipulate time. You play Michael Swift, a test pilot who willingly dons a Quantum Suit for the government to become the world's first time-traveler. While the experiment works, letting you journey from 2007 to 1911 and back, you return to an alternate present-day ruled by a fascist dictator, Krone. Worse still, your knowledge of timeshifting immediately makes you a wanted man. You'll need to take full advantage ...
