The Sims 3

The Sims 3: Generations is the fourth expansion pack for The Sims 3, taking some inspiration from a number of Sims 2 expansions like University and House Party. But what makes Generations special is how it brings out meaningful events from each of character depending on their respective phase in life...

Unlike previous Sims 3 expansions like Late Night and World Adventures, which added specifically themed content to a particular aspect of your Sims' lives, Generations is a more comprehensive add-on that adds a wide range of content to fill out your Sims' development more fully from birth to death. The focus here is on age-specific content, so that each life stage your Sim undergoes feels more fleshed-out and distinct, from childhood to teenage years to adulthood and old age...

The Sims 3: Late Night is bursting at the seams with new content and features for your virtual you. It’s going vertical, with a city full of towering skyscrapers. It’s also going dark, adding a brand new vampire system to sink your teeth into. But it’s also going social, with more activities that you can enjoy with other Sims, like barhopping with groups of friends for a night out on the town or even starting your own band.

It looks like Late Night is going to rock, so we were very pleased to have a chance to speak with Melanie Lam, associate producer for The Sims 3: Late Night to find out more about the new Band career in the upcoming expansion. Find Find out why Late Night will be all about the music - if you want it to be - and learn all the ins and outs of how the new Band career will work…

The Sims 3 Late Night is the biggest and most ambitious expansion for series since Ambitions. GamesRadar recently got a chance to speak with Grant Rodiek, associate producer for The Sims 3 Late Night to find out more about the new celebrity system. Find out what it’s like to be rich and famous and how the new career will change how you play The Sims 3…

The Sims franchise has always taken place in an idealized world, with your Sims enjoying huge houses with nice yards in a relaxed neighborhood with a small town feel. But it's always been limited to the suburban ideal – what about those of us who want to vicariously live the big city fantasy? Enter the Late Night expansion for Sims 3, where you can design a penthouse in the sky with a hot tub on the roof, the perfect spot for skinny dipping with vampires…

In The Sims 3, our kitchen is sparkling, our bills have all been paid, and our virtual self is up for a promotion at the local hospital. Meanwhile, in the real world, our dishes are dirty, the bills are piling up and we kind of smell. It’s funny how we find ourselves compelled to do for our Sims what we’re too lazy to take care of in the real world – and from the looks of things, our obsession with The Sims is only going to get worse when Ambitions, the latest expansion for The Sims 3, releases later this year…

The Sims 3 development team are apparently taking tips from the forthcoming opus Spore, and are promising more features to appeal to so-called hardcore gamers. The first of these new additions will be a more open, seamless world for your Sims to inhabit. Rather than being trapped in a pit of your own virtual filth, with only a few token public areas (shops, parks and the like), you’ll now be able to wander across the lawn and have a
