The Sims 2 Bon Voyage

EA announces The Sims 2 Bon Voyage

Expansion pack is all about beaches, sun, and relaxation

Electronic Arts announced today that the zillionth Sims 2 expansion will be floating into shore this September. Every Sim needs a break from the hard work, pet rearing, and Sim-to-Sim drama, and Bon Voyage sends them off to kick back in the Far East, go camping in the mountains, or lounge on a tropical beach. Sims can entertain themselves by doing the usual vacation-y things like hanging by the pool or building sand castles.

Of course all kinds of characters can be interacted with an offended by your Sims' tourist ignorance, and like good little consumers each Sim can collect tacky trinkets to decorate their homes with.

"The Sims 2 Bon Voyage brings so many new experiences and locations to the game, there’s almost no end to the surprises that fans and their Sims are going to discover as they travel to each of the three exotic travel destinations. It’s a perfect break from the everyday home routine!" says VP and Studio Head of The Sims Division, Rod Humble. "Every member of the family should be able to find activities that suit them - Mom can get a massage at the spa, Dad can practice Tai Chi in the Zen Garden, kids can explore the ruins of our largest object yet - the Pirate Ship! With The Sims 2 Bon Voyage, you can take your Sims - even your family - on the trip of a lifetime!"

While we're not yet conviced it will be the trip of a "lifetime," for Sims fans it will probably serve as a nice diversion, at least until the next inevitable expansion.
