If you purchased a copy of The Club for PC and have found that it didn't come with a product key, you're not alone. In a production error, a number of copies of The Club shipped without the crucial code that allows access to Games for Windows Live. The extent of the oversight is not currently known.

SEGA's online customer help confirms that the issue is known and offers a solution.

CVG reader 'socheeky' spotted a movie poster for the flick coming out in the US this April "with Keanu Reeves, several rappers and Hugh Laurie". As you can see from a quick bit of photoshop trickery, they look pretty much the same.

Developed by Bizarre Creations, The Club is a fast paced 3rd person shooter, pitting serial killers and trained assassins against each other for sport and gambling.

For those of you excited for the title, Sega revealed today all of the multiplayer modes that will be available when the game launches in February.

The eight multiplayer modes include:

Kill Match: This is a tried and tested death-match mode. The player with the most kills at the end of the gamer is the winner.

Score Match: This is a points based death match where players rack up points for kills using the same scoring mechanism which is used in the single player game. As with the single player game, the key to big scores is to combine kills into combos.

Hunted Killer: When the game begins the first player to make a kill becomes the Hunted. While hunted, a player's score ticks up constantly. Only one player can be the hunted, and if a Hunter player manages to kill the hunted, the hunted status will pass over to the killer. Becoming the hunted and surviving for as long as possible is the only way to score. The hunters are equipped with radar which shows where the hunted player is all the time. The hunted player does not have a scanner so he must keep on his toes to avoid his pursuers.

Team Kill Match: This is a regular team kill match. The team who scores the highest by killing their opponents will win.

Team Fox Hunt: In Team Fox Hunt one player on each team is assigned as the Fox. The objective is to hunt and kill the enemy team's Fox without them doing the same to yours. All players begin with the same amount of health however the fox player can use health packs dotted around the level to bring his health up to a maximum of 400%.

Team Capture: in this game mode, both teams have a base objective. The aim of the game mode is to capture the enemies' bas objective while defending your own. Bases are captur...
Jan 1, 2008

We got pretty excited with our recent hands-on with The Club, a shooter with a distinctly arcade feel to it. While the core mechanic - combo together as many stylish and skillful kills as you can - remains the same over all the modes, there are still a number of ways that the game presents this theme. Below are the various challenges catered to let you strut your stuff as the top killer amongst your ...
Dec 21, 2007

In any shooter, headshots are everything. The more the better, the faster the better - but rarely, other than a quicker kill, are you actually rewarded for it in any noticeable way. In The Club, things are completely different.

The basic idea is simple. Go from one point to the other, killing as many people as you can, as fast as possible. Every kill you make brings up a little timer, kill again in that time and youll start a combo, kill again in that time and your combo (and ...
Like any good club with a bouncer, entrance is restricted to those over 18 years of age (or those incapable of forgery using the drop-down menu). The site, as usual, offers detailed information and media from the coming game. It also lists the characters that will be present.

Sega has sent out a new release schedule with a little bit of bad news that those looking forward to the upcoming release of The Club will have to wait until next year.

Tagged to the foot of Sega's most recent release schedule is: "Please note that The Club from Bizarre Creations is now to release on X360, PS3 and PC in early 2008."

We can't help but wonder if finishing up work on PGR4 for Microsoft may have demanded a little more attention than was originally though...

The Club is nothing like your ordinary shooter. At all. Coming from Bizarre Creations of Project Gotham Racing fame, The Club's hybrid mish-mash of different genres aims to bring "the diversity of a fighting game and the intensity of a shooter" says the studio. Now we've got some new screens for you to check out by hitting the Images tab up top.

Despite there not being an Enzo Ferrari or cone challenge in sight, The Club bares many similarities to PGR, and that's exactly what ...

In years past, publishers have used the Electronic Entertainment Expo to announce new games, taking advantage of the global audience tuned in to the trade show. However, as it did last year, Sega has played the bricklayer, paving its road to E3 well in advance with announcements for games such as Mario & Sonic at the Olympics, Ghost Squad, and NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams. However, while the publisher isn't using the annual trade show as a venue for its big reveal, Sega's lineup includes many games whose details have been sparse at best.
Rather than a prolonged assault on the enemy, each level is a two minute rush. You scream through, kill everyone as stylishly and efficiently as possible and make your exit. Its ferocious and immediate, the complete polar opposite of something like Ghost Recon where you spend most of your time cowering behind sand ...
