Brand new game mode King of the Hill revealed. New KOTH map "Viaduct" also introduces TF2 to its first snowfall theme.
Two existing arena maps (Nucleus and Sawmill) have also been converted into KOTH maps.

Not content with releasing a software development kit for Team Fortress 2's maps and environments, Valve will soon be releasing the SDK for the game's character models and animations as well.
What does this mean? It means modders have access to some of gaming's finest characters and can alter their appearance and movements as they see fit. This will help out now only those looking to spice up the appearance of the game, but machinima enthusiasts as well, as it'll allow them to "have more control over how characters animate in their movies."

The Total Gaming Network reported today that the soldier class update had been apparently posted on the official TF2 blog in error; the post was quickly removed from the official page.
The post details that some major overhauls will come to the mechanics to the game and implement the item trading system.

EVGA is celebrating their 10th Anniversary as a company. In order to show some love to their fan base they are holding a Team Fortress 2 gaming event. It is important to note that it is not a tournament, but a fun chance to game with the community.

"Today we're releasing an update to the Source SDK that includes the .vmf source files for many of the official TF2 maps. This is something we've wanted to do for a while, especially as we've been growing the range of game modes in TF. Here's the list of maps that are included in the update: Lumberyard, Ravine, Badlands, Dustbowl, Granary, Gravelpit, 2Fort, Badwater, Goldrush, and Hydro."
