Team Fortress 2

It may not be Halloween just yet, but you can at least start prepping yourself early. To help get you in the mood, we’ve brought together some of our favorite Halloween-themed content from across the gaming spectrum in one video. Only a few games over the years have actually taken place on the last day of October (although) some MMOs like to live it up with awesome Halloween celebrations, but plenty of gamers have picked up the slack by creating their own custom content with mods for some of their favorite games. We’ve pulled together some of the best of both, sotake a look and re-live some old favorites (or discover some new ones)!

Platform: Steam | Publisher: Valve | Developer:  Valve | Price: FREE!

Yes, yes, Team Fortress 2 has been gratis for over a week now, but not everyone is as knowledgeable as you folk sat here tutting your disapproval at our choice for Download of the Week. But it still counts, alright? Good.

It's not just week old games we've got for you though. No, sir. We've also got a selection of games that have been out EVEN LONGER. Ha! But they're all good 'uns. So have a click inside to see the full delightful selection.

Lots of games have co-op modes, but not all of them truly encourage meaningful cooperation and teamwork. Two (or more) guns are always better than one, but the games on this list go beyond mere strength in numbers by brute force. These are games that prove that two brains can be better than one too, and that sometimes lending an assist to your friend can be just as satisfying as getting the kill yourself...

There are a wealth of seedy Team Fortress 2 reskins and remodels: large, jiggly breasts and an abundance of upskirt shots seem to top most modders’ checklists. Being the respectful gentleman that I am, I’ve skipped all that, choosing instead the best female reimaginings of the existing classes – taking key characteristics and incorporating them into a new gender.

But y’know, they’re ladies with guns, so they’re still hot. To use these models, unzip the file contents into your “team fortress 2/tf” folder (for voices, unzip to the “tf/sound”folder). Delete them when you want to reaffirm your masculinity...

You’re not supposed to like griefers, not usually. But we love watching Team Fortress 2 griefing videos. That’s why we’re paying tribute to some of the community’s most ignoble members, the ones who have shown us how to have fun at everyone else’s expense…

Team Fortress 2 is now available for Macs via Steam, so we figured it’d be a good excuse to highlight the Scout in today’s edition of Game music of the day. The smack-talking Bostonian seems to be one of the less appreciated classes in the game, which is a shame because he’s so useful. Plus he has an amazing theme song, too!

So you didn’t have a Halloween costume this year. Boo hoo. Well, GamesRadar will come to the rescue yet again. All you need is some paper and a printer (and some scissors to cut out the eye holes), and you’ve got yourself a quick last-minute Halloween costume in, well, a minute! You’ll be the star of party. Or you’ll just be laughed at

Cue the banjo! It wouldn’t be the Week of Hate without our trademark “100 Reasons” videos. In case you missed it, last year we targeted game platforms. So this year we thought we’d change it up and go after a few popular genres. Up first, the ubiquitous shooter.

When the Puritans began settling down in North America during the early 17th century, they didn’t practice cosplay. Those were dark days - dark, costume-less days, filled with famine, toil, and a depressingly short supply of free candy. It would take nearly 200 years for Americans and Canadians to finally embrace Halloween as a mainstream event - and it was mostly thanks to a flood of Irish and Scottish immigrants in the late 19th century.

Word spread quickly when Valve began posting early details about their next big update for Team Fortress 2. Our eyes went straight to the list of new achievements for the Heavy, which you can find here. But Valve’s titillating tease didn’t stop there. It seems they’ve left a trail of clues for fans to follow in the filenames of all the Heavy’s new achievement icons. Right-click on any of these new icons and
