Supreme Commander: updated impressions

We ride along with the makers of the next strategic masterpiece

These two spidery forces had arrived on the scene simultaneously, and combined to execute a precision-timed strike upon their enemy. As in real life battles, having different forces group and attack together is a central conceit of Supreme Commander. When you move several attack groups to the same area, the game will automatically ask you if you'd like to have them perform a synchronous assault.

But every yin has its yang, and combining so many units into a small area made the battle group too tempting of a target for the UEF. It was time for the nukes. The Cybrans saw the ballistic warhead coming in on radar but there was no time to do anything about it. Waves of destruction dominated our view as we peeled away and watched as the hulking ships became mere icons, engulfed in the thermonuclear mushroom cloud.
