In 2004, Kevin Bruner and Dan Connors founded Telltale, Inc. with a new perspective on gaming. With years of experience working on grand scale projects akin to "blockbuster movies," Bruner and Connors created Telltale to establish a more nimble, faster-paced, digitally-distributed episodic game model comparable to television production. Five years later-with over one million episodes sold-Telltale is celebrating with an eye toward an even brighter future.
Having released over twenty games since Spring 2005 for PC, Xbox 360, and Wii, Telltale's most recent project, Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures, is releasing monthly on PC and coming soon to XboxLIVE! Arcade. A new series in development will be announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), next month.
In celebration of Telltale Games turning five, Steam has marked titles Sam and Max Season one and two and Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People 50% off.
IncGamers report that the collector's edition DVD for season one of Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People is now available to pre-order, and has some nice bundles and bonuses for those who partake.
Telltale has announced that WiiWare sales of Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, the first monthly episodic series on a console, have more than doubled since Nintendo's new storage solution was unveiled at the Game Developer's Conference in March. The Strong Bad series began releasing episodically on WiiWare in August 2008.
GameFocus writes: "During an exclusive Q&A session at GameFocus, developer Telltale Games was asked if Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People Season 2 would see the light in 2009."
All things must come to an end... even a bear-holding-a-shark-that-stole-your-baby. Telltale Games set free the latest media to accompany the finale installment of the episodic, point-n-click adventure series Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People. Episode 5 bears the moniker "8-bit is enough" and draws forth the legendary burninator himself, Trogdar to the end the season on a hot note (clever I know). Reach out and click something 20X6 style later this month on the Nintendo Wii and PC.
In an interesting mirror of the 5th and final episode of Strong Bad's Cool Games for Attractive People: 8-Bit is Enough, where Trogdor has escaped from his videogame cabinet and is terrorizing Free Town, USA, Videlectrix (the fictional viedeogame creator responsible for the 8-bit titles Strong Bad has so enjoyed over the years) has broken out of the Homestar universe and is introducing games into the real world. Videlectrix has sent out a press release about their new 'roomisodic' gaming model, with Roomisode 1: Behind the Dangerdesque available now.
New Episode to Release November 17 on PC and WiiWare, Followed by "Burninating" Season Finale.
