It's all change this week, with three new top 10 entries: two brand-new releases and a high-jumping visitor from last week's top 20.

But it's hardly surprising to see Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords and World of Warcraft bursting in at numbers one and two. In fact, eagerly anticipated MMORPG World of Warcraft broke European records last week, with an estimated 280,000 units sold in the first 24 hours. The first weekend of play also saw a period when 180,000 European players were online simultaneously.

After a gentle start, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie has made a leap from 18 to six - proving that film-licensed games are a sure way of cashing-in, even if this is somewhat lacking in the gameplay department.

Further down the chart, most games have shuffled their positions. The notable changes are Pro Evo 4's drop from seven to 12, MechAssault 2's drop from 12 to 17 and The Sims 2's top 20 re-entry at 16. In the top 40, Medal of Honor Pacific Assault has made its first 2005 appearance, at 34.

This week sees an interesting - but not extensive - selection of new releases, all of which should make an impression on next week's chart. Mercenaries, Rumble Roses, GTR, and Cold Fear, among others, should provide some varied entertainment. And, if all else fails, you can always sit back and build your very own sleaze empire, Hef-style, with Playboy The Mansion.
