As The Old Republic servers boot up and invite players in, Star Wars Galaxies is shutting down, ending its nearly nine years of service with battles and celebrations. To celebrate the twilight of this fading star, we're going to be live streaming the last two hours of the game starting at 10:00pm ET/7:00pm PT, enjoying the final events and talking to fans of the important, influential MMO.

To many, Star Wars Galaxies was their first experience in an MMORPG. I was one such person. I played the game based not on my love for the genre or devotion to Sony Online Entertainment, but because of the license. But far after the allure of Jedi and Stormtroopers wore off I stayed, and had the time of my life...
