Spider-Man: Friend or Foe

Great power, grating action

FoF’s selling point is that you get to be bored to death alongside most of Spidey’s Rogues Gallery, including Sandman, Doc Ock, Scorpion and Rhino. They provide the embarrassingly easy boss fights, then sign up to help you take on the later levels. It’s a fun idea, but since the empty levels make no use of their signature abilities outside of endlessly smacking stuff, they just end up as fancy fists in fancy dress.

Friend or Foe might entertain kids for a few hours, especially in two-player co-op or versus mode, but that’s about it for Spidey’s latest adventure. Can he swing from a web? Sure, but if it means games like this, make it a noose.

You'll love
  • Fun concept
  • Not difficult
  • Co-op is passable
You'll hate
  • Button-mashing action
  • Repetitive
  • Spidey's powers are crap
