"Here is a brand new video of Section 8 an original Ip from developers Timegate Studios and publishers SouthPeak Interactive. It is a futuristic FPS where the main protagonist, Alex Corde is suited up in an armour that provides him with regenerative health capabilities and the allows for the absorption of enemy damage. Where have I seen this concept before? It has a new feature called "burning in" where you essentially sky dive off of a ship in the atmosphere (A La Star Trek) and into the battle, instead of the traditional respawn. This allows the player to pick a spot on the map and land there, right back into the action. This game is set to release for both the XBOX 360 and Games for Windows platforms. I can't wait to "Jump In" (pun intended).

Section 8 means to be discharged by the military for being mentally unfit for service. Though yet another FPS based around gung-ho space marines (albeit with lots of armour) doesn't really excite, the concept that you will be able to dynamically alter the flow of battles by calling for vehicles and 'burn in' wherever you want on the map (sort of like a faster futuristic version of the parachute jumps we did in Medal Of Honor: Airborne a few years back) has some very interesting gameplay possibilities.

Section 8 is a futuristic FPS with strategical influences. Earth's colonies are facing a growing insurrection and dispatch the the only force crazy enough to take the challenge of saving humanity, the elite 8th Armoured Infantry. This too would explain the name "Section 8" which comes from an old military regulation where soldiers were classed as unfit for duty due to mental instability.

A lawsuit between developer TimeGate Studios and Paramount Digital Entertainment over the name "Section 8" has been dropped, after Paramount surrendered rights to the name.

Sugar Land, Texas-based TimeGate Studios (Kohan, F.E.A.R. Extraction Point) is currently developing cross-platform sci-fi FPS Section 8, but conflict arose when Paramount attempted to title an upcoming interactive web series with the same name, to which TimeGate officially holds trademarked rights.
