PC - Prototype - Unlock Prototype Media By Deciphering DNA Strand You'll have to unlock the new screenshots and random details on the upcoming Prototype game by deciphering DNA strand combinations. The Prototype website has been updated with an interactive Double-Helix DNA Strand. Looks like there are around 50 bits of media to unlock.

PC - Prototype - New Details Unveiled for Prototype: Mayhem Unleashed Gamedaily writes: "After working on The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction for Sierra Games, Vancouver, British Columbia-based developer Radical Games embarked on a project that was more multi-dimensional. They set about creating Prototype, the first open world action game that plays out like a Jerry Bruckheimer movie, according to Tim Bennison, executive producer of the project.

Bennison and lead designer Eric Holmes were on hand at GDC to talk about their new game and show some exclusive new levels behind closed doors at the St. Regis Hotel.

In Prototype, players assume the role of Alex Mercer, a shapeshifter in present-day New York City. The city's under siege by a mysterious outbreak that's spreading throughout Manhattan, creating a scenario for a three-way war among Alex, the Army and the infected monsters that come in 40 different shapes and sizes."

PC - Prototype - Sierra announces voice actors featuring in Prototype Sierra Entertainment has just announced the Hollywood voice talent that is featured in the game Prototype, which is slated to hit stores in Q3 2008. Barry Pepper, Gordon Clap and Paul Guilfoyle are just a few major voice actors that are lending their voice to one of 2008's biggest gaming hits.

Prototype's main character, Alex Mercer, will have the voice of Barry Pepper which is best known from movies like Flags of Our Fathers, The Green Mile and Saving Private Ryan. Gordon Clap (NYPD Blue, Rules of Engagement) and Paul Guilfoyle (CSI, L.A. Confidential) will also play a character in Prototype.

PC - Prototype - Sierra Entertainment's Prototype is the First Video Game to Feature Neural-THX 7.1 Surround LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- CES 2008 -- THX Ltd., Neural Audio Corp. and Sierra Entertainment, a division of Vivendi Games, today announced that Prototype, the first-person shooter (FPS) for next-gen gaming consoles and PCs, will be the world's first video game to feature Neural-THX(R) Surround. The Neural-THX Surround technology enabled Radical Entertainment, an internal development studio of Sierra Entertainment, to extend the surround sound experience from 5.1 to 7.1, allowing gamers with Neural-THX Surround capabilities on their audio-video receiver to play Prototype in 7.1 discrete surround sound. PC - Prototype - Sierra Press Release: Prototype not so Prototypical Sierra today announced that they are working on a new title for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC which they describe as a "new kind of open-world game, featuring a rich story line of conspiracy, deception and deadly shape shifting action."

The game is being developed by Radical Entertainment, the folks behind Crash of the Titans and Scarface, and tells the story Alex Mercer, a man haunted by his past, fighting a secret war in New York City. There's action, there's conspiracy, and there's that deadly shape-shifting action, which is auto-hot. Apparently this shape-shifting power will allow the lead character to morph into people he meets in the game and steal their skills or powers.
