PES 2010 update next week (News)

Konami has confirmed that it will be issuing a free downloadable update for Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 on November 24th.

The DLC will update team rosters in line with the summer transfer activity. It will also add four teams to the Champions League mode – Atletico Madrid, Olympiacos, Lyon and Fiorentina.

Konami also claims that it "enhances a number of elements in the full game".

FIFA's arch virtual football rival PES is "struggling", EA reckons.

Why? According to EA UK boss Keith Ramsdale, it's because 2010 "is very much a FIFA and Call of Duty year".

"We've seen PES come. PES is struggling like most other non-mainstream franchises. This is very much a FIFA and Call of Duty year. There is quality product out there that is failing in the marketplace that at any other time would perform very well. So it's a tough place, but FIFA is a beneficiary of that, and we're really pleased with how FIFA's coming along."

Though the Xbox 360 traditionally enjoys the greater share of multiplatform title sales, the PS3 has emerged as the clear platform of choice for Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer.

The PS3 version of PES 2010, which was released last Friday, accounted for 66 per cent of the game's overall sales, with Xbox 360 claiming less than half that (32 per cent).

The first PES 2010 review is in via the pages of PSM3 Magazine, which crowns FIFA 10 (very marginally) this year's winner.

"After the arcade excesses of PES 09, [PES 2010 is] a welcome return to simulation roots," says the mag, which awards PES 2010 a respectable 89% - 1% less than FIFA 2010.

"If you were disappointed by PES 09, and converted to FIFA in exasperation, this is a welcome return to form," it says.

This is likely the version that was presented at the fair in Cologne (GAMESCOM), by themselves meet the creators of 70-80% of the final fulfillment of the game. In the final phase of the project should be added just new animations, playing the demo that's why I did not mean a big difference from playing with the final version.
