Pro Evolution Soccer 2008
Today Konami confirmed to IGN that the franchise formerly titled Winning Eleven Soccer in the United States will now be known as Pro Evolution Soccer 2008. This in no way affects the title in Europe where it will stay known as Pro Evolution Soccer.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is scheduled to ship on March 11, 2008.

LOVEFiLM, Europe's number one online DVD rental service, expects Assassin's Creed to top sales and rentals this holiday season.
"Assassins Creed will definitely be up there; our audience have already heavily pre-ordered this and the sure scale of the experience is very cinematic, so will prove popular amongst film fans," Chris Bird, head of marketing services for LOVEFiLM, told GamesIndustry.biz.
"Kane and Lynch will also do well, as will Call of Duty 4. FIFA 08 and PES will also be 'must buy' for anyone getting a new console over Christmas."

Metroid Prime 3 is followed by The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass, making it a Nintendo top two on the multiplatform chart.
The top twenty includes six football games. Last week's best seller, Football Manager 2008, sits at No3, while three versions of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 and two versions of FIFA 08 also chart.

Michael Owen has just been signed up to appear on the UK packaging of PES 2008 and will appear on the cover alongside Cristiano Ronaldo when the game is released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PSP, PC and DS in Autumn.

Konami has announced that Cristiano Ronaldo, midfielder for the Portugese national footy team, is to be the face of PES 2008 in Europe. According to French gaming website Jeux-Video, a number of details were revealed regarding Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 during the IDEF event in Cannes, France. Konami expects a playable version of the soccer sim to be available on August 22nd which will most likely be making an apperance at the Leipzig event. Konami also noted that the Japanese version should be identical to the European version and there should be no technical differences between the PS3 and Xbox 360 incarnations.» Read More
