Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones

Jake Gyllenhaal is the Prince of Persia

On the plus side, Gemma Arterton is the Princess

Jake Gyllenhaal has been confirmed to play the prince in Jerry Bruckheimer's movie based on the Prince of Persia games.

Mike Newell, who directed Donnie Brasco and the forth Harry Potter movie, will take up directing duties, whilst Gemma Arterton (Bond girl to be in Quantum of Solace) will be the princess.

Gyllenhaal will play Dastan, a young prince in Persia who joins forces with Tamina (Arterton) to prevent a nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Jerry Bruckheimer declined to comment on the budget, but said: "It's not one of our smaller productions." Expect it next summer.
