PC Preview | A Vampyre Story
Oh, to be a LucasArts veteran. To have lived through the days of Monkey Island and Full Throttle, and slipped away when it became about bad Star Wars games. To live as some sort of renegade idealist, criss-crossing the country on a Harley, rounding up a posse of old friends and starting your own development studio to produce a completely original adventure game. It's been done - a few times now in fact, (just look at Psychonauts ) - so could we be about to see it happen again? A Vampyre Story ...

Today at E3, we met Jeff Butler, president of Sigil Games, at his new publisher Sony Online Entertainment. Jeff also happens to be the executive producer of Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, the highly anticipated, massively multiplayer online role playing game. Weve seen Vanguard before, but the smug look on Jeffs face betrays a man who has made his dreams a reality. One look at the new version of the game tells us Sigil has made incredible strides in artistic appeal. The team has forged amazingly ...

PC - This is Vegas - This is Vegas Updated Hands-on

By now you’ve read about thenvisioned by This is Vegas’ developers: open world on the bottom, Vegas style in the middle, and partying at the top. At Midway’s Gamers Day, we got a full serving of partying with a dash of Vegas style, but no open world play (ie, driving and shooting) was forthcoming. Our demo began with a look at the party scene, which takes place in a dance club environment filled with interlinking mini-games. ...

PC Preview | This is Vegas
PC - This is Vegas - This is Vegas It’s absolutely inevitable that Midway and Surreal’s This is Vegas will be compared to the vistas of Rockstar’s GTA IV. And why wouldn’t it? GTA pioneered the sandbox format and will probably revolutionise it once again when the game arrives. Everything that has come since then and dabbles in the mechanics of open-world, sandbox-styled gameplay is likened to GTA. Unfairly or not. This is Vegas, however, is the complete ...

PC Preview | Velvet Assassin
PC - Velvet Assassin - Velvet Assassin - first look Velvet Assassin could be the first action-stealth game to be set largely in a bed. The game opens with our heroine healing up inside a hospital, gun resting by her side. Based on a real-life WWII renegade agent, Violette Szabo’s story unfolds through a series of playable flashbacks that lead up to her current incapacitation. But trust us when we say this is one tough broad. The first mission we saw had Violette infiltrating a dreary cell ...

PC - Venetica - Venetica

Allow us, if you will, a short time to celebrate. As big fans of the point-and-click genre we’re always praying for a good graphic adventure, and while this isn’t quite what we had in mind there’s plenty of reason to rejoice. Deck 13 is an established adventure game developer and their latest project is an RPG with all the charm of their usual work. It’s bright, it’s bold and it’s clean which is just what what we’ve been craving. ...

PC Preview | Voltage
Futuristic racing - perfected by F-Zero nearly twenty years ago, dragged through the mud by Fatal Inertia last year, and now it's back for another stab at greatness. Here's a tip - keep your hopes subterraneously low.Visually, Voltage certainly seems to be, erm, reminiscent enough of F-Zero to give us hope of a perfectly entertaining doppelganger racer, and there's the odd gameplay detail that suggests it could be a fun little romp in its own ...
