PathEngine has announced the release 5.21.00 of their pathfinding and agent movement SDK, with key features of the release being the addition of functionality for projecting 3D geometry to ground shapes, significant optimisation of pre-process data structures, and 3D content processing improvements. In addition, the team have also announced a licensing agreement with Monolith, and to Nexon for Nexon Star.

Flying Lab CEO Russell Williams today announced on the official Burning Sea site that, as of January, the Bigpond-hosted Australian server for Pirates of the Burning Sea – Invincible - will be turned off. The team will be creating a new server, Defiant, to meet the needs of Australian players, with every player being given the opportunity to switch to the server of their choosing. He also mentioned that the company will be trying to attract more Australian players moving forward by expanding its advertising campaign to Australian web sites.

Team members at Flying Lab Software have launched a totally new Pirates of the Burning Sea website. The changes are not merely aesthetic; there are substantial additions in terms of functionality. They include a game guide, featured forum posts, and other standards. The site was designed not only by your usual web development folks, but also by the game's UI designer and its art director.

Pirates of the Burning Sea hasn't been available for too long, 3 months to be exact, but Flying Lab are already planning to downsize the amount of servers available to four from the eleven public servers that were available. This move is being made to consolidate the POTBS fanbase, so in other words there aren't as many subscribers as the developers originally expected.
