Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One

Penny Arcade, the webcomic that invented the “two gamers on a couch” genre, has had a stay of execution regarding its long-dormant adventure game series, On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness. Written off as a failed venture into episodic gaming after developer Hothead moved on to Deathspank, the series' future acts will now be developed by Zeboyd Games (of recent Cthulhu Saves the World success). While the series' continuing plot has been laid out ahead of time, expect a new look and feel for future episodes...

A new Weekend Deal has arrived on Steam for Penny Arcade Adventures: Precipice of Darkness Combo Pack to the tune of 75% off. This comes from the Steam Content Examiner at Examiner.com.

Kotaku reports: When a movie's major, above-the-title testimonial comes from Access Hollywood, Rex Reed, or a television station in New Mexico, chances are it's going to be a real turd of an operation. Penny Arcade is trying that in reverse with On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode One. They're flacking it with the rantings of an anti-Penny Arcade troll. 'Penny arcade sucks and is unfunny. please murder penny arcade and then yourself if you disagree with me,' raves commenter ddf of Wired blog! He goes on to say, this game sucks and anyone who likes it sucks. penny arcade sucks and is as funny as something that's not funny at all.'

After Kotaku posted that Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One had gone gold, many of you were wondering why the game wasn't showing up on the Playstation Network. The game is currently listed only for Window, Mac, Linux and the Xbox 360's arcade. Kotaku shot a quick question over to Tycho to find out what exactly the deal was. It's all about the hardware. Right now the Penny Arcade game will only be shipping on platforms that support Torque because that's the blood that runs through their game's veins.
