Ubisoft's next Prince of Persia game will be a prequel to existing games in the series and will mark the start of a new trilogy.
Well that's according to rumour that's hit the interweb, anyway. Blog Surfer Girl Reviews (them again?) claims that the game is subtitled Ghosts of the Past and even has what it claims are two screenshots from a very early build.
It goes on to say that the new PoP is in development for PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 and PC and is due out in the latter half of 2008 - and that the second title in the new trilogy will arrive in 2009.
On top of that, the blog claims that the darker tone of the last two Prince of Persia games is being ditched for Ghosts of the Past "in favor a fantastical cross between The Sands of Time, Ico and Zelda."
We phoned Ubisoft to get a response to all this is. "We don't comment on rumours", a spokesperson for the publisher said.
