The date's going well. Both of us want to get a photo taken, so we cram into the booth. At which point the option to have Whoopee, the Sims colloquialism for making the beast with two backs, comes up. Sex in a photo booth? It's got to be worth a try. Sadly, my date thinks this a little too forward, and kicks me out. Whereupon another crush, who's passing by, notices I'm with someone else, storms over and slaps me silly. All of which kind of puts a downer on the date. Let's hope they don't end ...

Though traditional tabletop games have been losing ground to videogames for years, the hot new thing at this year's GenCon Indy appeared to be mash-ups that merged the best of both worlds to create the gaming equivalent of Frankensteins monster - though more friendly and less likely to lug away your girlfriend. Along with these hybrid creations, the usual MMO suspects were out in force along with a few other intriguing stragglers that we discovered.

Opoona - Wii
A very unusual little game for the Wii that combines community and relationship-building elements with a traditional RPG - a bit like, say, Animal Crossing but with a proper adventure to work through. Even better is the way it uses the Wiis Remote and Nunchuck, allowing you to move with the analog stick and battle by swinging the remote.

Lionhead's sequel pursues cleanliness for the sake of godliness

Black & White wasn't quite the well-defined experience suggested by its title. The wealth of ideas competing for attention throughout the grand endeavour made for a fractious, often confusing game. With the sequel, Lionhead hopes to cure such ills.
The player's role as deity remains focused on ensuring that their chosen tribe, be that Greek, Roman, Viking or otherwise, achieves dominance of the game's 10 lands.

We've sent teams of crack operatives into tense close-combat action in Rainbow Six, steered one-man stealth specialist Sam Fisher into the murky conspiracies of Splinter Cell, and taken squad-based combat out into the great beyond in Ghost Recon. What's left for the Tom Clancy line to sink its political teeth into?
