Feeling neglected amidst the next-gen hype, the current-gen versions of NHL 07 seem like a patched re-release of NHL 06

The rosters have, of course, been updated, and that’s probably the most apparent change. For euro-gamers, the Czech Elite League has been added to the European leagues. Given our North American bias, the only time we cared about European leagues was when all our players flew across the pond during the lockout. Dynasty mode is practically identical to last year’s, except for the addition of the salary cap and an “owner trust” system that rewards your winning ability with points that are used purchase upgrades.

The commentary is still annoying, and the music too hip to be cool. The players still skate too fast, and initiating a check seems to turn on a powerful magnet that attracts you to the puck carrier.
