Today Valve released the second update for the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2. This patch, downloaded automatically when you start Steam, corrects matchmaking issues and a few other bugs.
In typical Valve-like fashion, the first patch for zombie post-apoc shooter Left 4 Dead 2 has hit Steam only days after the game's release, providing a host of bug fixes and alterations, while generally not introducing any interesting features. We are pleased to see that the game mode selection menu now allows for keyboard input, and bug fixes are always nice to see (although we'd prefer no bugs in the original game at all, this isn't a perfect world). VGB has compiled a list of the editable cheat codes for this epic sci-fi shooter-RPG from developer Gearbox. This handful of codes work on the retail and Steam versions of the PC game.
Popcap's casual Zombie tower defense game, Plants vs. Zombies has been nominated for Best PC Game of the Year at the 2009 SpikeTV Video Game Awards. This is the first time that a game from a "casual" studio has gone up against AAA titles from large publishers. Other nominees are Dragon Age: Origins, Left 4 Dead 2, and The Sims 3.
