PC - Red Faction: Guerrilla - Gamasutra E3: 'Word Of Mouth Is Going To Carry' Red Faction: Guerrilla - Volition Gamasutra writes: "In late May, analyst Doug Creutz with Cowen expressed concern that lagging preorders for the high-budget THQ release Red Faction: Guerrilla indicate that sales of the game will likewise fall short.

But as Guerrilla launches today, Volition, the THQ-owned studio developer behind the game, is shrugging off naysayers. "We're not worried about [reportedly low preorders] at all," Volition community manager J Goldberg told Gamasutra from the E3 show floor.

We received tips pointing us to a few online retailers who had listed the game's launch date as August 25 -- almost three months later than the drop date for the Xbox 360 and PS3 version of the title.

PC - Red Faction: Guerrilla - Red Faction only next-gen possible, terraforming is so last season Coming up in an interview published later today, Strategy Informer interrogates a Red Faction sympathiser over at Volition Inc.

Associate Producer Sean Kennedy tells them why Red Faction Guerrilla wasn't possible until now, how Geo-Mod 2.0 tech is "three to five years" ahead, and his thoughts on terrain game Fracture...

Asked if the new Red Faction has moved away from terraforming terrain because of recent titles like LucasArts' Fracture, Kennedy laughs. "Ha, Fracture! You can actually put that in your article!" Volition isn't so insecure, it seems it was time for a change in the franchise anyway.
