PC - Race Driver: GRID - GRID dev lead reveals Codemasters' Ego engine, confirms summer 2008 release for all SKUs Talking to videogaming247, Ralph Fulton - chief games designer on Codemasters' Race Driver GRID - has confirmed a simultaneous summer 2008 release date for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, and has made first mention of next evolution of the company's Neon racing technology, named the Ego engine.

PC - Race Driver: GRID - GRID designed to break America Codemasters' sexy new racing game Race Driver: GRID has been designed to appeal to American gamers who didn't 'get' TOCA, says chief games designer Ralph Fulton.

"We reached a stage with the TOCA franchise where we'd hit a ceiling with the number of people to whom we could sell that type of content. It certainly does not appeal broadly in the United States, hence unit sales in single digits for previous TOCA games over there," Fulton told Eurogamer.

Race Driver Content Split into Localised Seperate Games Gameplayer is reporting that Codemasters may be looking to split the Race Driver series into separate games for local audiences. This comes from confirmation that Race Driver and V8 Supercars, traditionally the same game, will be split in 2008.

"It would be like splitting FIFA into two games, one with the rest of the world, and one just for the A-League!"

PC - Race Driver: GRID - Race Driver is changing names to Race Driver: GRID + New Screenshots Codemasters announced that the new title in their racing franchise Race Driver (earlier known as Race Driver One) is changing names to Race Driver: GRID. This is the second time after Colin McRae DiRT that the UK based publisher decides to change a title of one of their franchises. Codemasters also released a couple of new screenshots of GRID.

Race Driver: GRID is due to release half 2008 and is scheduled for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Publisher/developer Codemasters has today revealed three new titles for 2008 that will be released on 'leading console platforms' (read that as PS3 and Xbox 360) and PC.
