Second Race Driver: GRID Demo Released N4G

PC - Race Driver: GRID - Second Race Driver: GRID Demo Released Shacknews is reporting that Codemasters has released a second Race Driver: GRID demo, sponsored by eBay Motors. The 690mb download features the eBay Motors Muscle Series and two tracks.

Race Driver: GRID is now available on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a Nintendo DS release following in August.

Codemasters Has GRID Patch on the Way  N4G

PC - Race Driver: GRID - Codemasters Has GRID Patch on the Way Codemasters has said it is busy working on a patch to stop stuttering issues in the Xbox 360 version of Race Driver: GRID. Developer boss Gavin Raeburn waded into the official forum to confirm as much, and offered a temporary solution for those of you affected.

"We're close to getting to the root of the problem and we will be including a fix and a backup workaround option (just in case) in our forthcoming patch due within the next few weeks or sooner," said Gavin "Uncle Chewy" Raeburn. "We think the issue is due to specific drive hardware, possibly with bad blocks /sectors.

"The best temporary measure is to copy your Gamertag to a memory card, remove the hard drive and run the game that way. Replays and caching will be disabled, though instant replay will still work as this caches to memory."

The Xbox 360 version appears to have the bulk of the problems, although some have reported similar issues when running the game on PC.

The drivers happily revved their engines for the assembled crowd. As you might expect it was The Stig that really caught everyone's attention with many vying to say hello to the mysterious magnesium-scented tame racing driver.

Inside the store, the drivers picked up their consoles and copies of the games - The Stig with an Xbox 360 Elite fanboys will notice - before roaring off in a slightly less than legal (but thrilling) fashion northwards along Tottenham Court Road."

GRID trailer shows off new mode

Codemasters has released a new video for GRID (Race Driver: GRID in the UK) that shows off a mode reminiscent of the rewind mode in Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

The feature, dubbed 'Flashback,' allows players to inspect the detail of any crash using a rotating camera and go through the carnage frame-by-frame.

Console versions of GRID still on track as DS SKU is delayed N4G

PC - Race Driver: GRID - Console versions of GRID still on track as DS SKU is delayed VG247: Codemasters confirmed this morning that the DS version of Race Driver GRID has been pushed into June, but that the release of the PC, PS3 and 360 versions is unaffected.

"Oh no, they're still bang on for next Friday," said a spokesperson for the publisher.

Grid, the amazing next-gen racer, is boasting 12-player events with full car damage online, Codemasters has revealed. New multiplayer shots have also been released.

Taking out some of the long-windedness of having to find games online Codies says, "players can rapidly find the event they want and a slick voting system, matchmaking mechanism and seamless host migration".
