PC News from N4G | Mars
PC - Mars - Mars is not being developed for the Xbox 360 despite plans Destructoid writes: Contrary to reports, Spider Games is not developing an Xbox 360 version of PC and PlayStation 3 RPG Mars. In an e-mail conversation with Destructoid, Spider CEO Jehanne Rousseau said an Xbox 360 version of the game was a logical step and is being planned, however, taking the game to the Microsoft platform would require help from a publisher.

"For now we're still searching for a publisher, so in one way the 360 version relies on them," Rousseau said. "But we do actually have a PC version and we're planning to develop for 360 as well, as it seems very logical. I'll be able to give you the final answer about the different platforms when I have the contract in hand."

In a recent interview, Rosseau indicated that the lead platform for Mars was the PlayStation 3. In his words, the choice was made because "the PS3 is a very complicated platform." Spider would rather jump whatever hurdles now, as opposed to later. Good call. Run a mile, then take a walk.

PC News from N4G | Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
PC - Marvel: Ultimate Alliance - Source: Marvel Universe Canned A reliable source has confirmed to Next-Gen that Microsoft is cancelling the superhero MMO Marvel Universe Online.

As Crytpic Studios' development of Marvel Universe ramped up, NCsoft was eventually forced to outright buy Cryptic's original superhero MMO, the NCsoft-published City of Heroes, says our source. Now Microsoft has decided to cancel Marvel Universe, which leaves Cryptic with plenty of time and a nice chunk of change from the City of Heroes sell-off to develop a new IP.

The source, who wished to remain anonymous, said that an official announcement will be made in a few weeks about the demise of the game, unless something "drastic" occurs.

PC News | Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
The spiritual successor to X-Men Legends, Marvel Ultimate Alliance will be bolstering PS3 and Wii's launch day line-up this autumn, and we've had a chance to see what it's like on the go. But despite being touted as a next-gen title, this action RPG looks like being little more than a prettied-up version of what X-Men Legends has already brought to current-gen systems. Ultimate Alliance has the looks - we were able to see a PS3 version running, and it's as crisp as a dewy spring morning. But ...
