Eidos Interactive, one of the world's leading publishers and developers of entertainment software, confirms today that JUST CAUSE will be in store on September 22nd on Xbox 360, Xbox, PS2 and PC.
Your world¿Your rules. In Just Cause, you are a field operative and specialist in regime change backed by a top secret agency, who will overthrow the corrupt government of San Esperito. The rogue South American state is suspected of stockpiling Weapons of Mass Destruction, and it's your mission to negate the threat this poses to world peace. It could be to your advantage that the tropical paradise is about to implode as various factions vie for power ¿ it just needs a gentle nudge in the right direction.
Avalanche have just announced on their site that a playable demo for Just Cause will be available on the 24th of August.
GamePro: "At the end of March, Just Cause 2's outrageous action antics -- featuring skydiving, grappling onto helicopters, and riding rockets -- have room to potentially stand out after gamers have had their fill of other big action titles."
Developed by Avalanche Studios and using the proprietary Avalanche 2.0 Engine, Just Cause 2 features over 1000Km² (400miles²) of South East Asian island paradise in one of the richest, most realistic game worlds ever seen. Snow-capped mountains, sun-kissed beaches, dense jungle and arid deserts create a stunning backdrop for a unique and compelling take on open-world gameplay.
Following the Vertical Gameplay trailer and developer Podcast released in September, the official Just Cause 2 website has been updated with the latest episode in a series of Mini Docs where the team at Avalanche Studios takes you behind-the-scenes on its explosive new free-roaming adventure. This latest update goes deep undercover on the island of Panau, uncovering what makes this tropical time-bomb tick.
The Lost Gamer writes "Following on from our previous coverage of Just Cause 2 in our demo impressions, we are pleased today to see the release of the latest Developer video showing us around the massive island of Panau. Set in over 1000 square kilometers of beautiful landscape, the island features 5 different climate zones as well as real-time weather systems, on top of a fully and a day and night cycle to give it that real world authentic feel."
