8monkey Labs confirmed today that a PC demo of Darkest of Days, a historically-based first person shooter, will be released tomorrow on 11th August, 2009.
Earlier this month we told you about the new time travelling first person shooter from 8monkey Labs called Darkest of Days and in this new video we take a look at just some of the weapons that will be available to our time traveling hero Alexander Morris.
First person shooters are an extremely popular genre and not a day goes by without hearing of the next one that will grace our consoles in the coming months but sometimes one creeps up on you and you wonder how you manage to avoid hearing about it. In this case its an FPS from Phantom EFX and independent game development studio 8monkey Labs titled Darkest of Days and the game utilises their own proprietary game engine aptly called Marmoset which has been in development for 3 years. Marmoset will allow 8monkey labs to support large numbers of active characters on screen, in game levels that are up to 4 square miles in size all densely populated with trees, bushes and weeds and an AI that is able to drive behaviors for hundreds of characters simultaneously whilst maintaining fantastic detail for one-on-one encounters with the player.
Phantom EFX and independent game development studio 8monkey Labs announced Wednesday morning that their highly anticipated historically-based first person shooter, "Darkest of Days", is set to launch on September 8, 2009 for both Windows-based PC and the Xbox 360.
Darkest of Days is an upcoming first-person shooter where the player will go through time to eight different events in human history. The idea is that the player is supposed to save certain key figures that, had they lived, would have changed humanity for the better thus altering our present. Set for a third quarter release this year on the PC platform. Phantom EFX/8monkey Labs just relaunched the game website today with a new, more user-friendly design.
GameTap goes on an intergalactic mission this week with space-smuggler sim Darkstar One. The service also adds another title which, at first glance, may confuse a few people into thinking it's a completely different game.
