New shots of the operatic space combat adventure DarkStar One have surfaced on the long range scanners today. You'll explore over 300 planets, nebulas and asteroid belts aboard the DarkStar One - the experimental spacecraft you've inherited by your murdered father. Unlike a standard role-playing game where your character would normally get a shiny new blaster pistol or a fancy hat, the ship itself is the game's main focus. This mysterious vessel is especially designed to accept any manner of

Only 25% of Half-Life 2: Episode One gamers have managed to complete the first in the H-L2 trilogy, despite the game taking, on average, just five hours to complete.
Other points of interest from a gameplay report released by developer/publisher Valve include the fact that less than 7% of gamers have played it on the hardest skill setting. Lightweights.
Game download service Steam allowed Valve to collect data on the way its first foray into episodic gaming is being played
There's hardly a rim left to tweak in the Need for Speed universe, so perhaps that's why the series is once again wandering into the wilderness in search of new thrills. EA's newly announced Need for Speed Carbon slams you onto perilous canyon roads that twist and turn through dusty, gusty outdoor settings, but don't worry, you'll still be managing a pimped-out runnin'
Notch the post one more time in favor of an extremely bleak future for planet Earth. The upcoming future sci-fi strategy game Maelstrom sends an enormous meteor to our planet, wiping out most of us and causing an ecologic catastrophe. The remaining humans divide into two groups and try to strangle each other for the most precious resource of all: water. Then the aliens come. The dinosaurs had it easy...
After the meteor hits in 2015, the ecosystem collapses. The last remaining human factions -
Prey is one of the most anticipated shooters ever - if only because it's had such a long time to work people up. In fact, this first-person shooter has taken longer than America's entire moon landing mission, from JFK's "We choose to go to the moon" speech to the final splashdown of Apollo 17. After 11 years in the making, Prey is finally here. Almost.
The demo contains the first hour(ish) of the single-player game and two multiplayer maps. And while your character Tommy doesn't exactly choose

Have you grabbed the free upgrade for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter yet? If not, click here and get it now - there's fresh new content out for the hit military shooter. Updates for both the PC and Xbox 360 versions of GRAW became available at the same time, but only the PC version is free.
Mind you, the additional content isn't the same across both platforms. GRAW's Multiplayer Pack 1 adds the sorely missed deathmatch mode to multiplayer fans on the PC, and adds even more
Atari released some action-packed new screens today of "what not to do" in the upcoming racer Test Drive Unlimited. We feel compelled to add a disclaimer of sorts, as people that get squeamish around car accidents may not want to take a very close look at these shots. No bodies are thrown clear, but there's enough buckling steel and showering sparks to rival the accident-prone Burnout series. Our favorite is the screen featuring the fire truck... how lucky would it be to wreck into a truck
