Apparently Riot’s beta testing testing went better than expected – the developer announced today that the Dominion game mode and Crystal Scar map are now completely, totally available, with no more restrictions or limited-time windows to worry about. This new game mode is easily the largest update to League of Legends since launch, and its official release is great for everyone. Well, except Riot's server administrators. They're going to have a long week...

The Xbox 360 version of id Software's Rage will fill three discs' worth of play content, including a multiplayer mode that takes up a whole disc all on its own. Whereas the PS3 version will take up 8GB of HD space, the 360 version's installation – a move recommended by id's Tim Willits – will gobble up 22GB of HD space in one go. Such a party-sized helping of content is great news for players with an appetite for the epic, but may prompt a flurry of pre-emptive data re-organization for those with less storage. Thankfully Willits has a solution that puts the “work” in “workaround”...

Jade Empire is an exception on Bioware's resume. The Action RPG, based on mythologized ancient China and first published on the original Xbox by Microsoft, is one of the only titles never to see expansion into a franchise. However, the company's co-founders, Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk, have confirmed that a return to the game's setting is something the company has considered often, and is “just looking for the right way to deploy” another installment...

So we've got hold of another new trailer for id and Bethesda's increasingly barnstorming-looking Rage, and this one really is not messing around. With no sign of the heady narrative themes of the previous vids, this one goes straight for the jugular (and liver, and kidneys, and skull, and pretty much anything it can blow apart with high-powered weaponry) with an intensive focus on the thing that id Software does best. Inventive and brutally gratifying killing of things that need a good dose of killing.

Click on, revel in the carnage, and let us know what you think. And then start dreaming of whatever excessive weaponry is going to be powerful enough to wipe out whatever's attached to that giant troll hand. Mmmm, blasty...

Well THAT didn't take long. Mere hours after Blizzard announced that Diablo III was being pushed to 2012, BioWare jumped on the open holiday season with an announcement that The Old Republic would be releasing on December 20, 2011 in North America, and December 22 in Europe. It’s a weird date but we’re not going to complain – that’s a waste at this point. Time is of the essence! We need to start coming up with excuses as to why we won't be attending any holiday parties. Maybe our families will believe that we all have hibernation sickness...

Earlier this week, EA CFO Eric Brown discussed The Old Republic’s release date during an investor call, confirming that there will be a slight chance that the game could slip into the March quarter. This, obviously, set the internet ablaze, with some assuming that Brown’s words were a preamble to an inevitable delay.

But today, that all changed....

Sometimes, we watch a video for a game and don’t get any idea of what it’s really about. “Where’s the gameplay?!” we’ll yell. “What’s with all of the cutscenes!” That’s not what happened when we watched this walkthrough video for Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s Missing Link DLC. On the contrary – we almost felt as though Square-Enix went too far into things by having Mary DeMarle, lead narrative designer, narrate all five minutes of this trailer...

As the countdown ticks steadily down to Battlefield 3's October 28 release, the storm of promotions surrounding it has been quickly ramping up. The latest weapon in Battlefield 3's advertising arsenal pulls in the help of world famous rapper, producer, and entrepreneur Jay-Z. It's a gameplay trailer set to be broadcast on television Monday, September 26. We have a teaser for the trailer (or “treaser”), which contains snippets of fresh gameplay set to the Jay-Z track “99 Problems.” Watch it as many times as you'd like…

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning looks absurdly ambitious. EA and 38 Studios are creating something massive, here, the scale of which seems on par with Fable and Mass Effect. But with this new IP comes a mess of new races, locations, characters, and factions to learn, and our brain is way too full to absorb all of this without a little help. Thankfully, the developers have put together a video explaining it all, and giving us a primer for what to expect when we first step foot in Amalur...
