A new trailer for Extraction Point, the upcoming expansion pack for PC shock-and-gore shooter FEAR, has been released - hit the movies tab above for a dose of high-velocity bamfing.
Sadly it doesn't show off too much of the game, preferring to spend half its running time congratulating itself for the original FEAR being so good - but when it does kick in with some furious gunfights, wall-climbing freaks and near-invisible poltergeists, all is forgiven.
It also misses a

PC gamers who recall the brilliant-but-buggy Operation Flashpoint will be happy to know that its sequel in all but name, Armed Assault, is progressing nicely - as you can see in these screens or by hitting the movies tab above.
While the footage is three minutes of build-up with no big-bang payoff - more about showing you Armed Assault's comprehensive military manoeuvres than the brewing civil war - it gives an idea of the kind of scale you can expect in this thinking
Aspyr announced it has signed an exclusive publishing agreement with 20th Century Fox to publish the The Shield on PC and Playstation2. The game will be based on the edgy police drama produced by Fox Television Studios and airing on the FX Network. And yes - this is apparently the same game that was originally going to be published by Sammy US back in 2004. Apparently, developer Point of View never gave up hope and things worked out in the end, just like a Hallmark
Bully 1, bully 0
As much as we hate to legitimize raving lunatic Jack Thompson by talking up his bizarre adventures in jurisprudence, we have to smile when things like this happen. His battle to stop Florida stores from being able to sell Rockstar's Bully... didn't end so well, for him.
As Destructoid reported before the trial even ended - he failed. The presiding judge was led on a two-hour tour of the game by Rockstar and deemed it fit for sale. As Game|Life's Chris Kohler observed, though,

Do it again
(Some of) you did it two days ago for the PS3. Now, it's your chance to do it again for the Wii. Tomorrow morning, GameStop stores will open up preorders for Nintendo's system. While interest in it seems at least as high as for the PS3, there are likely to be many more units on store shelves this fall... so it's less pressing to get in the damn line. Still, if you live in the U.S. and you want one locked down, tomorrow is the day to head to EB Games or GameStop and get it done.
The new Knights of the Nine questline featured in the PS3 version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be made available for the PC and Xbox 360 versions also, the game's producer has revealed.
"We always aim to have all our content available across all platforms," producer Todd Howard told gaming site IGN when asked if the PS3 content would remain exclusive, "so [making it available for PC and 360] is our
Virtually ready to play
Eurogamer has a nice little update on the state of Wii's Virtual Console. It seems that Nintendo Japan has confirmed that 30 games from NES, SNES and N64 will hit the system by the end of the year over there, and 30 more will be pulled from the Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx 16 libraries as well... amounting to a total of 60 classics before January 1, 2007. Better yet, Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata has confirmed that "Compact Software," or original, downloadable Wii
If war is as beautiful as it appears in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, then sign us up now. The new shots from Quake's fun factory make it clear that the developers plan on lobbing a live grenade into Battlefield 2142's foxhole.
Why? One look and you can see for yourself that Quake Wars is going to have an irresistible pull, not only for gamers who love team-based shooters, but also those who ache for something truly next-gen. Incredibly detailed foliage, over-the-top vehicle and character
