The Golden Joystick's Action Game of the Year category might make your head explode.
Let the wild casting speculation begin! This week, the movie rag Variety revealed that film rights for the Just Cause franchise have been optioned to L+E Pictures, with producer Adrian Askarieh set to develop the script with Hollywood scribe Michael Ross...
Since its announcement at E3, I’ve been waiting for this Goldeneye 007 remake with guarded interest. Back in the late ‘90s I probably put 200 hours into the multiplayer for the N64 original, and this game looks better every time I see it, but the disappointment over the last remake, subtitled Rogue Agent, still stings. But this most recent trailer, a look at how the developers have been working on updating it, makes me a little more positive about this game’s right to exist...
As a general rule, you can bet that there are always at least two James Bond games in development. We've talked up the upcoming Wii GoldenEye remake, but also announced at this year's E3 (and leaked prior, of course) was the new PC, 360, PS3 entry: Blood Stone.
But who cares, right? Just another 7/10 Bond game, yeah? No! Wait! Keep reading. You might be more interested than you expect...
Like you, we dream of one day hooking up our frail, broken bodies to a machine. This wonder-gadget will transplant our minds into the physical shell of a previously inanimate object; one that moves in ways we only thought possible in the deepest reaches of our imagination as it careens through ramps and valleys and barely escapes certain doom when it ricochets and rolls past pits and chasms...
Above: Artist Joss Stone will be the new Bond girl in James Bond 007: Blood Stone. But she’ll also be working on the theme song, the most important track for the game
Activision has just released the first screenshots for James Bond 007: Blood Stone along with pictures of the new Bond girl, Joss Stone. But Joss Stone won’t just lend her likeness to the upcoming third-person action title. Stone will also be working on the game’s theme song, titled “I’ll Take it All.” First screenshots and pictures of Joss Stone looking all hot and bothered inside…
Just Cause 2 gets a tuk-tuk fitted with an absolute mofo of a mounted weapon.
If you've been playing Just Cause 2 for the last couple of weeks and are starting to get bored by its sprawling landscapes and combustible villages, it may interest you to know that the game's creators have dropped a violent, downloadable new plaything into the world. And it can be yours, right now, for free. And also it's an ice-cream truck.
Don't groan just yet - the Chevalier Ice Breaker isn't just any ice cream truck. Hit the jump for more details and images.
Plenty of developers sprinkle their games with subtle references to movies, books, comics and TV shows, but the creators of Just Cause 2 have raised the bar. They've included not just the LOST numbers, not just a couple lines of LOST trivia, but the whole damn LOST island (complete with hatch!)
Click through for the full video, screen-by-screen highlights and a map of where to find the secret island for yourself. Easter eggcellent!
Every console fanboy’s most favorite/dreaded time of the month has come again. The NPD sales chart is here and with it comes news of the frontline on the console war, at least for the US side. Though Nintendo DS seems cemented in the top spot, the number one home console in the second month of 2010 was the 360. The Wii was close behind it, with PS3 in trailing that by a small margin.
